Chapter 04
It was slowly creeping upon the day when moved back with her family. and Eiji will still engaged but not living together anymore. was kind of sad that she had to go soon; the Kikumaru family members were really very nice people. She grew fond of Eiji more than she would like to admit. In contrast Eiji had gotten used to and grew to like her very much. He also liked having her next to him while he slept.
After their argument, they have gotten into the habit of sleeping in the same bed. No one knew, for it is kind of inappropriate. just started to come to Eiji’s room and sleep next to him. He let her, because she was very warm and huggable. In other events, Eiji’s fangirls backed off once they saw Eiji smile at . The fangirls knew that and Eiji were in love yet everyone knew that the two are kind of dense when it comes to those kinds of feelings. Of course that explains Eiji and ’s need to want to be near each other. And much to Eiji and ’s horror, Fuji had began to tease them mercilessly by asking them when the wedding was and such and not only that Fuji had began taking an interest in Sapphire, making the already shy girl’s face permanently red.
“Fuji-kun, stop poking me,” said Sapphire, face ablaze with color. Fuji, Sapphire, Eiji and were eating lunch on the school grounds. Hunter apparently skipped school again probably to hang out with Jin, but that’s beside the point. Fuji was spending his time now focused on Sapphire and sadly and guiltily thanked God that Fuji was annoying Sapphire and not teasing her or Eiji.
“Saa, Sapphire-chan I wonder if your face can get any redder,” said Fuji, poking her face.
“Fuji-kun,” said Sapphire, absolutely getting even redder that she felt like she was going to burst a blood vessel.
“Nya, Fujiko-chan must you be so mean to Sapphire-san,” said Eiji, reprimanding Fuji. Eiji knew Fuji knew when to stop but Eiji remembered that Fuji only teased people he cares about, so Eiji figured that Fuji began liking Sapphire.
“But she’s too cute,” said Fuji, ruffling her hair.
“Fuji, stop messing with her,” said , pulling Sapphire away from the evil tensai’s grasp.
“What? I wasn’t aware that Sapphire-chan was and Eiji’s daughter,” said Fuji.
“FUJI,” said Eiji and , horrified and blushing. Sapphire giggled, it was true that and Eiji were acting kind of like parents to Sapphire. “NOT YOU TOO SAPPHIRE!”
“Ooh, in sync I like that,” said Momoshiro, appearing out of no where.
“MOMO, THAT’S NOT COOL!”
“Too good, eh Fuji-senpai,” said Momo, grinning ear to ear.
“Yes, yes,” said Fuji, smiling.
“You both are so evil,” whined Eiji.
“It seems like Eiji-senpai can’t take the teasing,” mocked the Prince of Tennis, Ryoma, with a can of Ponta in hand, smirking to boot.
“OCHIBI,” whined and Eiji. decided to start calling Ryoma too, because that boy is too cute. No one can deny that Echizen Ryoma is one of the cutest boys ever! Anyway, that evening at the Kikumaru household, was there.
“What are you doing here, -nii-san,” asked . looked hurt.
“I can’t visit my favorite little sister,” said .
“I’m your only sister,” said , blankly. “What are you going here? I hate repeating myself.”
“Tomorrow you are going to come home, just wanted to tell you to start packing,” said . “And Kikumaru-san has kindly invited me to dinner.” rolled her eyes at her brother. If anyone asked her, she would tell them that was the best big brother in the universe. She would follow her brother anywhere. Eiji pouted as and talked. He knew idolized . She told him that one night. Eiji knew he was going to miss having her here and waking up with her next to him…at least until they got married.
After dinner and departed, ’s attention was back on Eiji. As always they went to their own rooms and waited for Eiji’s parents and grandparents to go to bed. , already in her pajamas, finished packing. All she had out was her uniform and clean undergarments for tomorrow. She crept quietly to Eiji’s room where he was dozing off. He had a spot for her already. She climbed into his bed and snuggled close to him.
“,” whispered Eiji.
“Yeah,” asked , looking at him. Though the darkness of the night, she could tell that he was serious and not joking around. Eiji’s eyes pierced her soul and made her heart skip a few beats. He kissed her and felt her heart soar. He stopped kissing her, she smiled and he kissed her forehead. He brought her into a hug. sighed and breathed in his sweet scent.
“You’re beautiful.”
“I love you,” said , without thinking and with her heart. Both froze at just what she said. Eiji could not believe she just said that but he knew that he loved her too.
“I love you too, ,” said Eiji.
“I’m glad,” said . Eiji and soon drifted off into a peaceful slumber. The next day was not a school day and came around ten in morning to get and her things. and Eiji’s father packed ’s things in ’s car while and Eiji sat next to each other in the living room.
“I’ll see you at school, ne ,” asked Eiji.
“Of course, Eiji,” said . She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. “I love you.”
“Love you too,” said Eiji, giving her a hug. , Eiji’s parents and grandparent heard everything. actually wanted to cry, his little sister is a big girl now. Eiji’s family could not stop grinning.
“Let’s go ,” said , calling out to his younger sister. jumped up and smiled at Eiji. She ran out. Eiji sighed.
That night could not sleep nor could Eiji. The black haired girl could not believe she could not get to sleep. She tossed and turn and all she thought about how nice it would be to be next to Eiji again. She cursed; she had to get to sleep. Eiji was in a worse predicament for he usually held onto like a teddy bear or something. None of the stuffed animals were cutting it for Eiji and he knew he was not getting any sleep.
The next day was Sunday so almost hesitantly called Eiji to come and hang out at Hunter’s house. Hunter invited Jin, Sengoku, Sapphire and her over and Hunter told her that she could invite Eiji. He gladly accepted. When they got to Hunter’s house, they were surprised to see Fuji there; apparently, he invited himself to come along with Sapphire. Everyone else, besides Fuji, was surprised that Sapphire did not snap yet.
Inside, Hunter and Jin argued over what to eat for lunch while Sengoku tried to be the mediator which was a stupid idea on his part. Fuji began teasing Sapphire, making her blush various shades of red. Eiji and sat next to each other, wanting to get some sleep as they leaned on each other.
“Ne, , how is it to be back at home,” asked Eiji.
“I couldn’t sleep last night,” whispered .
“Me neither,” said Eiji, laughing lightly. snuggled closer, not caring if anyone else said anything. However, Jin and Hunter stopped arguing when they saw Sapphire look like she was about to faint. Sengoku snuck into the kitchen to get something to drink. and Eiji sighed. was going to get Sapphire away from the evil clutches of Fuji, when Sapphire finally snapped.
“SHUT UP,” yelled Sapphire at Fuji. “WHY ARE YOU TORTURING ME LIKE THIS? YOU KNOW I’M IN LOVE WITH YOU AND YET YOU KNOW I’M EXTREMELY SHY WITH YOU NEARBY. IF YOU’RE NOT GOING TO LOVE ME OR AT LEAST LIKE ME OR SOMETHING, I WANT YOU TO LEAVE ME ALONE!” All was silent. , Eiji, Jin, Hunter, and Sengoku waited for Fuji’s reaction. No one ever dared yell at him like that before.
“Sapphire-chan,” said Fuji, calmly.
“What,” snapped Sapphire, tired from yelling and she felt like she was going to cry.
“Fuji,” started and Hunter, worried suddenly about the tensai’s reaction. Fuji then proceeded to kiss Sapphire. and Hunter’s jaws dropped. Eiji shook his head at Fuji. Sengoku pouted while Jin cared less.
“, are you alright,” asked Eiji, grinning. “Does my need a kiss too?” blushed.
“Eiji, I would love a kiss but no in front of these people,” said , pointing to the peanut gallery.
“Wait, are you guys an official couple now,” asked Hunter, getting ready to tease . “Why didn’t you tell me ?”
“Why didn’t you tell me about Jin? I had to find out when I caught the two of you making out in the kitchen,” said , grinning.
“,” said Hunter, beginning to blush.
“What’s the big deal? She’s my girlfriend so I can kiss her when I please,” said Jin, blankly.
“When you please,” asked Hunter, twitching. Thus they began to argue. Meanwhile Sengoku watched this all from the corner, this is why he never had a steady girlfriend—he loves girls but they are crazy.
“Ne, Eiji, you do realize that Fuji and Sapphire are still making out,” said , pointing to the tensai and the blue haired best friend of Faith.
“Let them be ,” said Eiji. “Let’s get out of here and go get lunch because I don’t think we’re actually going to be doing anything besides listen to Thorn and Akutsu argue and Fujiko-chan and Sapphire-san do whatever they do.” grabbed his hand.
“Later,” said , running out of there with Eiji right behind her. “I’ll race you to get burgers, Eiji.”
“No fair, , you got a head start,” whined Eiji, catching up to her. They never have been happier when with each other. And and Eiji married approximately two years later when they were nineteen.
