It was like everything was full of their brand new scent.
To the searching eyes around me, a shy greeting.
Looking away, up to the sky.
The jet streams were shooting straight ahead to the future.
Spring – The Sky and the Stars
Jirou walked up to the girl waving at him. She looked at him, a faint smile on her lips, and said a small “Hello.”
They walked side by side, that night, to the school rooftop. Once there, Jirou took a deep breath and grinned. “The spring air smells nice during the night too!” He grabbed his companion’s hand and walked up to the fence. “, looking at the stars from over here was a good idea!” He grinned, turning to her.
couldn’t help but grin; Jirou’s smiles were just infectious. “Yeah. And tonight is really nice, too.” Her bright eyes looked up, reflecting the shimmering stars from the sky.
The tennis player tugged her closer and quite shyly, their hands entwined together perfectly, as if they were made for each other.
The spring scent and the warm breeze filled, and touched their bodies as they continued staring up at the sky, waiting.
He looked at his watch for a moment before smiling at her widely. “It’s almost time!”
A few moments later, streaks of silver ran across the sky and the couple watched, eyes shining. Before the last few shooting stars disappeared from sight, they closed their eyes and made a silent wish for the future.
They opened their eyes seconds later and looked at no one else but each other, smiling.
“That was nice.” quietly said. Jirou nodded in agreement. Again, he tugged her closer until he felt her breath touching his lips. He smiled affectionately, a tad different and a lot more special than his usual smile, before leaning in and giving her a light kiss.
They continued to hold each other by the hand, knowing that on that spring night, it was only them and the stars, who probably knew of what laid ahead in the future.
