Blankets, Coco, and Snow

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

‘Why am I here again?’ That was the main question that Jiroh, the magic volley specialist was asking himself. He was at Atobe’s annual Christmas party. Atobe, naturally, invited all of Hyoutei and their rival tennis teams. Jiroh could be home sleeping peacefully. But since Atobe was his good friend and Atobe invited everyone, Jiroh felt obligated to arrive. It was stuffy warm inside. Jiroh luckily was able to sneak outside on the balcony, where it was nice and cold.

“Ara? Jiroh-kun what are you doing our here,” asked a female voice. Jiroh looked to his right. A silver haired girl with yellowish eyes was sitting outside with a blanket and a thermos of something warm.

-chan,” asked Jiroh. “Why are you out here? You should be enjoying the party.”

“You should be enjoying all the snacks inside,” said . “I’m waiting for the first snow of the season.”

“It’s supposed to snow tonight,” asked Jiroh.

“Yes,” said . “You want to sit with me? It doesn’t look like you want to go back inside.” Jiroh grinned at her. was a classmate of his; she was Student Council Treasurer and often butts heads with Atobe. was the type of girl one goes to if one had a problem. She is a nice girl. Jiroh and were both snuggled with the blanket wrapped around them.

“I’m surprised you came,” said Jiroh. “You don’t usually come to Atobe’s parties.”

“Yeah, but it’s Christmastime and he wouldn’t mind if I stayed outside to wait for the first snow,” said , smiling gently. “You want coco, Jiroh-kun?”

“Of course,” said Jiroh, grinning cutely. The warm sweet liquid hit the spot for Jiroh. “Mm, tasty.” He then realized that he was sitting next to a very pretty girl, snuggled into his side.

“So Jiroh-kun how are you doing,” asked . She liked the feeling of warmth that radiated from Jiroh.

“I’m fine,” said Jiroh. “I just wish I could get more sleep.”

“Ara, but you sleep all day,” said , “in class and at lunch, even at your tennis practice.” Jiroh pouted. He is so cute when he does that; could not help but want to hug him to death.

“I’ve been studying for the high school entrance exams,” said Jiroh, still pouting.

“So am I,” said . “It is tiring, but it’s the holiday so don’t worry about it.” They sat together in the blanket in a peaceful silence.

-chan what do you want for Christmas,” asked Jiroh.

“To watch the first snow fall with someone I care for,” said . A light blush appeared on Jiroh’s face and ’s too. “I usually watch the first snow with my father but he’s in America on business this year, so I came to Atobe’s party hoping to find you.”

“M-m-me, you care for me,” asked Jiroh. This was a first indication that had any type of feelings for him. He always thought she was beautiful and smart, but he never thought he get a chance with her. He figured her more Shishido or Atobe’s type of girl.

“Ah, I kind of always thought you were cute, sweet and yeah I-I-I l-l-like you,” said , blushing bright red. Jiroh grinned and hugged her. He nuzzled her neck that made her get chills.

“I like you too,” said Jiroh. But before could respond it suddenly began to snow.

“Yay! Isn’t pretty Jiroh-kun,” asked , smiling happily.

“Of course,” said Jiroh. He watched the snow fall on her head and blend with her hair, giving her hair a wet look to it. He could hear people inside exclaim about the snow coming down. She watched the snow come down and he thought that she looked so innocent. He had never seen her like that before. He suddenly felt the urge to do something. “Hey, -chan?” She turned away from watching the snow fall to him, eyes wide with excitement. He kissed her, then, and she gladly kissed him back. Suddenly the fact that they were outside in the snow, in below freezing point weather and no jackets on did not matter anymore to them.

“Merry Christmas Jiroh,” said , red in the face. She cannot believe he kissed her; his lips were so warm and soft that it made her melt in his embrace.

“Merry Christmas, ,” said Jiroh, before kissing her again. Now he was glad he came to Atobe’s party, kissing her was better than sleep any day.
