“Ne, Keigo can we talk for a moment,” asked his girlfriend, , of two years. They were second years in Hyoutei’s high school.
“What can Ore-sama do for you, my love,” asked Atobe. and Atobe were sitting in the tennis team club area, drinking some tea.
“Keigo, I’m breaking up with you.” Atobe had the most bewildered look on his face, when she said that. was serious and did not break eye contact with him.
“, what in the seven hells are you talking about? Don’t you love Ore-sama anymore,” asked Atobe, still confused.
“Keigo, it really is not that I don’t love you, I really do but lately I’ve been noticing a decline in out relationship,” she answered. Atobe and stared at each other.
“Tell me what’s wrong? Tell Ore-sama what’s wrong,” asked Atobe, demandingly.
“I’m tired of everything Keigo,” answered , with a sigh. “I’m tired of you standing me up because one of your teammates calls you. I’m tired of you endlessly talking about tennis. And I’m especially tired of your fangirls who keep threatening me which you promised to have taken care of.”
“Those fangirls mean nothing to either of us and you know tennis is important to me,” said Atobe, mumbling. “And I only stood you up one time.”
“Try seventeen times this past month,” said , blankly. Atobe cringed. “So I’m breaking up with you because I’m not going to be the only one working on this relationship Keigo. We’ll go back to treating each other as before we started dating, okay?”
“You’re jealous of tennis,” said Atobe, blankly and rather loudly. “How can you be jealous of a sport?”
“Don’t you dare yell at me,” said , sternly. She did not deny that she was jealous of the sport that Atobe probably loved more than anything else including her. “There is a better girl for you out there, someone more suited for you. That girl is not me.”
“But Ore-sama only wants .”
“Now you do but what happens if you found someone while we were still together, it would not be good. Keigo we are only sixteen and nothing has been set in stone yet. Hell, maybe in a few years we’ll be back together but right now I think we both need some growing up to do,” said , trying to make him see.
“Fine, leave Ore-sama, -san,” said Atobe, bitterly and with a look that said she ought to leave.
“Atobe-san, goodbye then,” said , standing up and leaving with her book bag. A few days later, was studying in the library minding her own business when she noticed a group of girls sitting a few tables away from her, whispering. The light haired girl rolled her eyes and got back to studying the Age of Napoleon. Unfortunately one of the girls recognized as the President of the Atobe Keigo-sama fan club walked up to her. She is one of the many girls that threatened while she was dating Atobe.
“Yes,” asked , tensely.
“We are finally glad you realized that you are not good enough for Atobe-sama and broke up with him,” said the girl.
“I didn’t really do it for you,” said , really not wanting to get into the finer details of her former relationship.
“Oh we know,” said the girl. “We figured you must have heard the news.”
“What news,” asked irritable.
“That Vice-President of the Atobe Keigo-sama Fan Club is the betrothed of Atobe-sama since birth. They’re getting married on her eighteenth birthday,” said the girl, with a smug look on her face.
“How nice, so can you leave me alone because I have studying to do,” said , apathetically. She knew that, of course, her father told her when she first started dating Atobe. Her father told her that, originally, she and Atobe would have been betrothed but luckily her father wanted her to choose her own mate. She felt, no she knew that in fact she was not the right girl for Atobe. had a mind and opinion of her own, Atobe Keigo needs a wife that stays silent and is a trophy wife. And a trophy wife was not . Despite the fact that she loves Keigo, knew what life she was going to get if she stayed with him. She could not stomach it. She sighed and gathered her books; she was not getting any studying done.
“Well, well -san,” drawled the voice of the tensai of Hyoutei, Oshitari Yuushi. “You actually did something that I thought I would never see in my life.”
“What?”
“You broke Atobe,” said Oshitari, with a look of pity on his face. “He won’t even come out of tennis club room.”
“Not my problem,” said , walking away.
“I always knew that you were a heartless bitch,” said Oshitari, sighing. “You were sculpted perfectly by your father for the cut throat world of business.”
“…What do you want from me Oshitari…Atobe-san has a fiancé more suitable. Go get her to fix him,” snorted , very un-ladylike.
“Why he loves you, I’ll never understand,” said Oshitari, wistfully. snorted again and walked away from the irritating tensai. Half-way home, she walked straight into a blue haired girl.
“Ah, my apologies, Blue-san,” said , helping the other girl up.
“No need to worry I’m not harmed,” said the girl. Suddenly her face lit up in recognition. “You’re , aren’t you Atobe Keigo’s girlfriend?”
“Was his girlfriend, broke up,” said , trying to recall if she ever met this girl. blinked. “You are Fuji Syuusuke’s girlfriend.”
“Yep,” said the girl. “And you look annoyed? Oshitari-san annoyed you, I presume.”
“You must be an expert in dealing with tensai,” said , jokingly.
“I wish,” said the girl. “He always is confusing and I can never tell what he feels, not to mention that he is obsessed with tennis which isn’t as bad as it is…but you know despite sometimes Fuji-kun ignoring me, he never fails to tell me that he loves me.” blinked and something clicked; the young light haired girl bolted back in the direction she came from leaving the young girlfriend of Fuji confused. “Was it something I said?”
ran straight to the tennis club room where Oshitari, Shishido, Mukahi, Ootori, Kabaji, Wakashi and Jiroh were banging on the door to get the King of Hyoutei out to practice. pushed the tensai out of the way.
“Atobe Keigo, open the door this instant,” demanded , as if she were talking to a five year old child. The door unlocked.
“Only comes in,” said Atobe. entered to see Atobe sitting on the couch, sipping tea, and a book out.
“Why are you giving your teammates a hard time about training, you are the captain for Pete’s sake,” asked . “Get your ass out there!”
“You know, Ore-sama thought a lot about what you said,” said Atobe. “Ore-sama knows that is scared of becoming nothing more than a perfect little wife.”
“…”
“And is also scared that Ore-sama will fall out of love with her, just as her father has done with her mother. But should know that Ore-sama’s parents are very much in love with each other and Ore-sama’s mother is far from a silent house wife. In fact, Ore-sama’s mother is quite opinionated,” said Atobe.
“Crap, I hate admitting when you’re right,” said , not looking him in the eyes this time.
“I love you and I will go through the fires of hell and back for you.”
“I know, I love you too,” said .
“Good, now Ore-sama has to get to practice then Ore-sama will take his once again girlfriend out to dinner.”
“I think that will be wonderful Keigo.”
“Of course, but take a nap while I go train,” said Atobe, “because you’re tired, Ar~n!” chuckled.
