Not Gonna Stop Us
“Are you coming to see Ore-sama win at the Kantou Regional Tournament?”
“Maybe.”
It was the Kantou Tournament and it was the Atobe Keigo of Hyotei and Tezuka Kunimitsu of Seigaku match. Only one person standing off at the side was frowning, cheering neither side. It was after Atobe’s victory when that person walked over to him. Atobe was happy that he finally beat Tezuka.
“ did you see? Ore-sama beat Tezuka!”
“Yeah I saw,” said , still with a frown on her face. “Congrats.”
“What’s with the frowning,” asked Atobe. “Are you upset that Ore-sama and his team overall lost the round?”
“No,” said . “You’re an idiot you know that?”
“Uh oh,” said Ootori Choutarou to his doubles partner Shishido Ryou. “Here they go again.”
“ before you bite Atobe’s head off,” started Oshitari. “What are you doing here? I thought you cared less about tennis.”
“I do but he invited me,” scoffed , pointing at Atobe. “Atobe you are an idiot.”
“You already established that,” said Atobe, smirking.
“When you were facing that Tezuka guy and his shoulder got hurt you didn’t think did you,” asked .
“Wha?”
“You could have hurt your shoulder too! You stupid vain peacock,” said , poking his chest hard. “Tennis is your life and you could have been really hurt.”
“But Ore-sama is not,” said Atobe, giving her a glare.
“Think things through next time! That Tezuka guy will probably never be able to play at his full potential anymore did you want that to happen to yourself,” asked , sighing.
“You were worried about him, -senpai,” said Hiyoshi.
“You need not worry about Ore-sama, ,” said Atobe.
“I wasn’t worried,” said . “I’m just looking out for you Atobe. I’ll see you all at school.”
“Geez, Atobe you are so lucky to have such a girl to care for you,” said Mukahi. “She’s not like any of the other girls in the school that fawn over you.”
“Of course not,” said Atobe, with a smirk. “Ore-sama’s father knew ’s father forever and knew exactly how she would be.”
“You know you better watch out Atobe,” said Oshitari. “She may figure out a way to not marry you.” All Atobe did was glare at him. was his childhood friend, despite their differences and she was the overall the only person Atobe would trust enough to be in his life for a long time. He did not love her, but he will refuse any other girl (because most of them in the rich community are bratty and overall ditsy annoying) to marry.
Atobe was completely humiliated by that little brat of Seigaku and she was laughing at him.
“Shut up,” growled Atobe sitting in his room with her.
“Hahahahahahaha,” laughed . “This is just too good, you’re lucky that brat did not shave your whole head. Personally I can’t wait until it grows out again. You look so weird.” She was on the floor, holding her stomach from laughing so hard. And he couldn’t kick her out because she was staying over for her father is overseas for a few weeks.
“It’s not that funny,” said Atobe.
“Okay, okay I’m sorry I laughed but you have to admit you look weird,” said , still giggling. “I have to hand it to Echizen, for bringing you down a peg or two.”
“…”
“Oh I made you mad haven’t I?”
“…”
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“…”
“Okay I’m sorry is that what you want to hear?”
“Mean it.”
“I’m really sorry Atobe,” said . “And I could help you fix it to make you look a bit better or were you going to get a whole bunch of famous hair stylists to do it?”
“You can do it,” said Atobe. “I trust you.”
“Yeah, yeah,” smiled . It was almost time to graduate and go on to high school. Atobe was eating lunch with Oshitari, Jiroh, and Mukahi. Ootori, Hiyoshi and Kabaji were on the second year floor. Shishido was missing in action.
“So how is your relationship going with ,” asked Oshitari.
“What relationship? And you are not close enough to her to call her by her first name,” said Atobe.
“Geez, don’t need to be touchy about it,” said Oshitari, very tempted to roll his eyes at his (former) captain. Just then Shishido walked in the room.
“Where were you,” asked Mukahi.
“Forgot my lunch, gave me hers,” said Shishido, shrugging. “She said she made it herself.”
“What,” asked Atobe, glaring at him.
“Don’t worry she’s eating lunch with one of her friends,” said Shishido getting the feeling that Atobe was pissed off. “It’s not like I asked her to give me her lunch.” Atobe just glared at him and finished his lunch. Shishido took a bite.
“How is it,” asked Oshitari.
“It’s good,” stated Shishido. “Not the stuff I normally eat but good.”
“Probably good because of the love she put into it by making it herself,” said Oshitari, smirking. Atobe seemed deep in thought. Later was waiting for Atobe to take his limo home.
“Hey Atobe how was your day,” asked , pleasantly. He didn’t answer her. “Oh what did I do now Drama King?”
“You gave Shishido your lunch,” said Atobe.
“What? I would have done that for anyone you know that,” said .
“You never made Ore-sama lunch before, remember who you are marrying,” said Atobe.
“My cooking skills are abysmal to your cooks at home,” said . “It would not be up to your standards, I never meant for anyone to taste it. Personally I like when I cook, instead of having someone else do everything for me.”
“Make Ore-sama lunch tomorrow then,” said Atobe.
“Wha?”
“You heard Ore-sama.”
“Fine, but don’t complain if it sucks,” said . The next day, gave Atobe a bento. He ate it without complaint.
“It was decent.”
“See, I told you,” said , rolling her eyes. “I don’t know why you cared that I gave Shishido my lunch in the first place.”
“…”
“Jealous are we Drama King,” asked . “Whatever.”
“Oi, thanks for your lunch again,” said Shishido, handing her something.
“Chocolate?!” She hugged him in thanks, but did not notice Atobe’s face.
“Okay let go of Shishido now, ,” said Atobe.
“Geez you have a strong grip girl,” said Shishido.
“Sorry don’t know my own strength some times,” said . “And Drama King, stop glaring at poor Shishido.”
“Stop calling Ore-sama Drama King,” said Atobe.
“But you are one,” said and Shishido, at the same time. Atobe glared. He was not in love with but he did not like that she was so chummy with Shishido now. Years have gone and passed, and it was near to Atobe’s eighteenth birthday ( was already eighteen in July) and their marriage.
“Where are you taking me Atobe,” said , annoyed that he dragged her away from her meditation time.
“Patience, ,” said Atobe, taking her into a store.
“A jewelry place,” asked , raising an eyebrow.
“Ore-sama has not picked out the rings yet,” said Atobe. “You can pick your ring.” smiled. The engagement ring was passed down from Atobe’s grandmother, to his mother and to her, so she didn’t get a choice in that.
“That’s very considerate of you Atobe,” said .
“You have to wear it for years,” said Atobe. They browsed around and Atobe picked out a gold band with a small diamond encrusted on it. “Did you find the one you want ?” She showed him a simple silver band with nothing on it or in scripted on it. He stared at her.
“I like it simple okay?”
“Fine,” said Atobe. He thought it was too plain, even for her. Guess he was going have to do something about that. He talked to the jeweler. “Come , they’ll be ready on the day of the wedding.”
When they were married and moved into a mansion that was near his parents’ one, Atobe told her that they would have to call each other by their first names now. Atobe worked at his father’s company, training for one day he’ll take it over. But had to stay home or spend the day with the other Atobe woman.
“Keigo I’m so freaking bored. Not to say that your mother and grandmother aren’t good conservationists, but seriously,” complained . She liked doing things that were productive.
“I know ,” said Atobe, taking a sip of a drink.
“It would be so much easier if my father would let me keep working at the company,” said . “He’s says that it would be a waste of time for me to do so. He says he wants grandchildren.”
“That’s what Ore-sama’s father says as well,” said Atobe. “I hope Ore-sama’s mother is not pestering you about our relationship.”
“No, but I’m sure she’s waiting for grandchildren as well,” said . “What do they take me for, a freaking baby factory?” Atobe snorted out a laugh.
“You watch too much television,” said Atobe.
“Well I have nothing better to do some times. The maids and butlers do everything,” said , pouting. Atobe nodded. The next day their fathers were discussing the merger of their companies, when Atobe decided something.
“ is bored at home,” said Atobe.
“Oh,” asked her father, Kazuma. “Maybe she needs some more time with your mother and grandmother.”
“Not that she doesn’t enjoy spending time with them but you know how she is,” stated Atobe.
“Keigo, she’s not getting a job here. But she can help your mother with fundraisers and parties,” said his father, Keichii.
“You both know she hates that,” said Atobe. “But I’ll offer it to her.” At home, just as Atobe predicted she did not want to do that.
“That’s not my thing,” said . “But thanks for trying anyway. I suppose I’ll figure something out.”
“When Ore-sama receives the company from Ore-sama’s father Ore-sama will get you a job, for Ore-sama knows you are more than capable of being in the business world,” said Atobe. hugged him in thanks.
One day sometime in their third year of marriage Atobe was invited by Oshitari to attend a reunion of sorts with some of the other tennis players from Seigaku, Rikkai, and such. And Oshitari insisted that come. He also learned that he was the only one married. So he dragged too.
“Atobe’s married,” asked Kikumaru Eiji of Seigaku, in shock.
“Saa, it must have been arranged,” said Fuji Syuusuke, smiling.
“My data says that they were childhood friends and long time betrothed,” said Inui.
“Ore-sama can hear you know,” said Atobe, with at his side.
“Atobe,” greeted Tezuka. He also nodded to in greeting.
“Tezuka, how are you,” asked Atobe. So the two long time rivals began talking while Fuji talked to .
“So how’s being married to Atobe,” asked Fuji, with smile.
“Why should I answer your questions,” asked . “I don’t even know why he dragged me here.”
“ , you went to Hyotei and was in the kendo club but was forced to quit in your third year. Your sizes are…” glared at him.
“How do you know those,” asked , cracking her knuckles. “Listen four eyes, you are going to get it.” Atobe heard that and just hoped that she would not beat Inui up too bad.
“Are you going to stop her,” asked Tezuka.
“Ore-sama does not have a death wish,” stated Atobe, in all seriousness. “You are more than welcome to stop her.”
“I’ll pass,” stated Tezuka, nearly cringing at the sight of Inui being beat by .
“That’s for you,” said Oshitari. Atobe could only agree. Sometime in the following weeks Atobe had a rough day at work then stopped at Oshitari’s at his request. It was official, he had a headache (that damn tensai knows how to push his buttons oh too well, more than Atobe would have liked). So when he stepped through the doors of his mansion, he called for .
“What,” she asked.
“Wash my hair.”
“What?”
“Are you deaf or what,” asked Atobe. “Ore-sama is not repeating it. Ore-sama will be waiting.” He walked away headed to the bathroom. just watched him. Sometimes she does not get him; he always has surprises for her. So as trudged upstairs, while muttering things under her breathe that were inaudible. Their bathroom had a giant tub, I mean what do you expect from Atobe nothing but the best.
“Keigo, I don’t really understand why you want me to wash your hair,” stated .
“Ore-sama wants you to,” Atobe.
“Something happen today,” asked . “Did Oshitari bug you that much?”
“How did you…”
“You speak loud on the phone,” shrugged , grabbing a shampoo bottle.
“Eavesdropping, eh ?” just dumped some water on his head and began washing his hair, in a rather annoyed manner. “Ah watch it.”
“Yeah, yeah,” said . “You know you are a spoiled brat, you vain Drama King.”
“You've told Ore-sama that a million times over the years,” said Atobe, enjoying someone else washing his hair.
“Someone has to remind you,” snorted .
“Oh, thanks,” said Atobe, sarcastically. She dumped more water on his head to wash the shampoo out and then began with his conditioning.
“What got you annoyed with Oshitari? Was he teasing you again about me,” asked . If Atobe was facing her, she would have received a questioning look. “Shishido and Mukahi told me.”
“Shishido,” said Atobe, visibly frowning but she could not see that.
“I still don’t know why you are jealous of the attention I gave Shishido in school,” asked , finishing up washing his hair. She was going to leave but Atobe grabbed her arm and kissed it.
“Cause you are mine , always have been,” muttered Atobe. And yet he is still sure that he is not in love with her and she is not in love with him.
“Keigo…” He did not know if she was mad or what for him saying that. He did not realize that she did not move from his grasp. “…will you still be my prince?”
“Ne, Kei-kun will you be my prince?”
“Of course -chan, as long as you’ll be Ore-sama’s princess!” Little nodded with a grin and Atobe also had a childish grin on his face.
“I love Kei-kun so much!”
“I love -chan more…and you’ll never leave me right?”
“I’ll never leave you. I promise.”
“Of course as long as you still be Ore-sama’s princess.” Then there was a splash and was in the tub with him. He kissed her before she answered him. When they broke for air, she said,
“I love you my Keigo.”
“I love you my .” He nuzzled her neck. “And I’ll make sure this time you don’t leave me again.”
