Naa, do you remember? Do you...do you remember? That day in spring when we all first met. The pink of the sakura colored the flow of time. It was like everything was full of their brand new scent.

Spring – When We First Met

Pink petals danced around as they slowly fell to the ground. Atobe looked up from where he was sitting under a akura tree and breathed in the serenity of the atmosphere. It was a wonderful moment for him to be peaceful at such a place.

He turned his attention back to the book he was holding before hearing the faint sounds of footsteps from the other side of the tree. He spared a glance and saw a smile on a girl’s face, looking up at the cherry blossoms. Atobe turned away, paying her no mind.

The day after he came back to the same spot to read once more, and again, the girl came. Both did not acknowledge each other’s presence but it was good that way. They didn’t dare to disturb the calmness of this place.

The third day came, and this time, Atobe watched her. She would smile and look up at the trees, enjoying the brand new scent of spring. The girl would also catch a stray petal once in a while as her hair flowed with the wind. Atobe couldn’t help but think that the sight deserved a painting, where the moment can be captured in an essence of calmness.

The days passed and the Hyoutei captain continued to look at her quietly, an unattended book in hand. They never spoke to teach other, as much as Atobe wanted to say something he would say.

Then they met each other, finally, for the first time, before Atobe got up to leave. An orange accent filled the scenery, but it was no less beautiful than it was before.

“Atobe Keigo, I presume?” She spoke up.

Atobe looked at her from the corner of his eye and raised an elegant eyebrow. “Ah, and how did you know?” He heard a melodious voice laugh lightly through his ears.

The girl’s lips curved upward. “You’re pretty popular.”

“I’m sure.” Both chuckled warmly as Atobe walked towards her. “And you, what is your name?”

“ ,” She replied. “A fellow senior from Hyoutei Junior High.”

He stood beside her. “Well, . Mind if I walk with you for a while?” She shook her head.

            “It’ll be a pleasure.”

A breeze flowed through, making the pink petals fall gracefully once more. And the scent of the blossoms filled the air, giving it a soothing scent.

Spring is a time for a new beginning. And it had come.
