OK, before anything else, if anyone missed it, here is the list of preliminary information you need to know about DOPAMINE’s writer hunt this August 2008. As I mentioned before, interested applicants are required to register to participate. Only those who pre-registered will be considered for the open writer slots.

How to register for DOPAMINE’s August 2008 Writer Hunt:

1. Put this in the Subject line of your email: “DOPAMINE Writer Hunt August 2008 [insert your pseudonym here]“
2. In the body of your mail, include these information:

   • PoT Characters you’ll MOST likely write dream novels about:

Everyone who registers will get a reply containing the secret code they need to include in their final submissions.

Registration is NOW OPEN, right this minute, until 23:59 (GMT Timezone) of August 27, 2008 (Wednesday).

I decided to extend the registration since the 24th is a bit too near.

The scenario will STILL be posted on August 24, 2008. Submissions will be accepted starting 00:00 August 29 until 23:59 August 31, 2008.

Note: We require registration for two reasons:

1. We need to know how many entries to expect so we could create a timeframe for the announcement of new writers.
2. Once you register, you’ll be compelled to submit a story. Otherwise, some people could give up halfway.

Note: If you don’t have the time, the drive, and the passion to write at least one DN per month, please don’t apply. We’re currently looking for active writers who want to satiate their thirst to write and share what’s in their minds. We already have much too many writers on hiatus, we don’t want to add to that number. If you want to write DNs but don’t think you can commit to one per month, please be informed that DOPAMINE accepts guest DNs as long as they’re written in readable English.

DOPAMINE’s hunt for writers will begin SOON!

The mechanics are simple:

• I will be posting a specific scenario and all aspiring members will have to write a story around it using one PoT prince (ANY of the characters) and one original character (the female lead). One story per person only.
• I will post the minimum and maximum allowed number of words along with the scenario. The stories cannot go over or under those required number of words.
• The scenario will be posted on a particular time (we’ll be using GMT timezone) and the stories should be in my mailbox exactly one week later. (i.e., if I posted the scenario today 6:00PM, I expect all entries to be submitted on the 26th at exactly 6:00PM).
• You will be required to REGISTER first before the I post the scenario. Only entries from people who pre-registered will be considered. The instructions on how to register will be posted later.
• You can submit earlier if you want, but I suggest waiting until the last day so you can rethink the story and proofread your submission. NO preference will be given to those who submit earlier.
• It’s of extreme importance that it be evident that the story was written SPECIFICALLY for the recruitment, and NOT an old story rewritten to fit the scenario.
• Please take heed that you do NOT have to include the scenario word-for-word in your story (although you can if you choose to). It could just be implied. It could also be re-written to fit your story. As long as it’s obvious that the scenario is a CENTRAL part of the plot, then that’s acceptable.
• We will be recruiting more than one writer from this, so don’t hesitate to tell your friends about it; there’s no competition among the entrants.
• Take note that we judge based on the following criteria: 1) Plot; 2) Reability and flow; 3) Characterization; 4) Grammar and spelling.
• The stories submitted by the chosen writers will be posted here in DOPAMINE unless they specifically asked not to.

The scenario and the number of required words will be posted on 00:00 (GMT timezone) August 24, 2008.

Applications for DOPAMINE membership will end by February 15, 2008 (Sunday). You only have until February 15, 2008, at exactly 11:59PM to send in your letters of intent. Anything which comes in later than that will be deleted.

And please guys, if you want to be part of a team, following instructions is of the essence. When I said please send me an introduction of yourself along with a sample work, I meant it. Sending me one-liners only tells me that you won’t make an effort into trying to submit one DN per month.

I’ve already taken a look at the applications and have already accepted one new writer into the team (please don’t say who you are, yet). I’ll most probably choose just one more, unless I come across someone truly exceptional that I can’t bypass. Please take into account that I value loyalty, dedication, and love for PoT, DOPAMINE, and writing, more than I do outstanding literary abilities.

With that said, I’ll be waiting!

Hi Guys!

First of all, let me thank Wanna.Be for handling the November updates. The December updates are in the works and we hope to bring them to you soon. And yes, I’m working on two new DNs for the Kiriban requests. I just haven’t had the time to finish them because I’m alternating between being violently ill and extremely busy since December. But that’s not what this post is about.

Our dear writer, Karu, has resigned from her post for personal reasons. Thanks very much for being part of DOPAMINE, Karu-chan. We hope to read your works again sometime in the future. Another writer, kemmybear, is also too busy with her thesis (good luck, kemmy!).

So, we’re currently looking for new team members.

Writer Requirements:

1. Love PoT and know the bishies’ characters well.
2. Can write. You don’t have to be a Shakespeare, but we’re aiming for smooth-flowing, readable stories.
3. Can commit to at least one one-shot DN or one chapter of a longer DN per month.
4. Preferably know HTML to help with the coding, though this one’s not required.

If none of the new writers know HTML, we’d probably choose one or two to join the group as of now since I don’t want Wanna.Be to handle too many DNs per month. However, if someone who knows HTML makes it into the team, we might choose more than two.

Proofreader/Editor Requirements:

1. We need someone who knows the language REALLY well.
2. Can commit to proofreading 7-10 DNs per month.
3. Proofreaders could also be writers if they choose.

Tell me something about yourself and send me sample pieces: fan fictions, short stories, whatever, as long as they demonstrate your writing abilities. Those applying to be proofreaders would be sent one DN for proofing before decision will be made.
