ANNOUNCEMENTS
Hello guys!
It’s been a long time. I’m here to make a couple of announcements. First, I want to thank everyone who’s participated in my anniversary promo. I’ve already chosen TWO story pitches.
I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to finish them by July 24 though. I’m just TOO busy. I have about 200 articles to finish by mid-August. After that, I’m planning to take work slowly and start writing dream novels again.
I would also also like to thank the TWO Dream Novel Generator submitters. Honestly, you guys are so lazy. LOL. Come on people, even a one-page dream novel would do. As such, I am extending the Dream Novel Generator submissions to August 15, 2007. Send them all in guys! Even the two who’ve sent in theirs before are welcome to submit more.
Another thing I would like to announce is…well, we all saw this coming…
After August, DOPAMINE would shut down…
Just kidding…
I wouldn’t shut down DOPAMINE, of course. But since I’m too busy now, I need two helpers to run the site. One would be a web site design assistant and the other would be a dream novel writer/editor.
Responsibilities of web site design assistant:
Convert all submitted Dream Novels in HTML form with Java prompt for the name of the OC
Interlink pages with each other (I’ll be sending you the web site’s files which you have to send back to me after each update. I’ll be the one uploading them to the server.)
If you’re savvy enough to do web site revamps, all the better. Though this is not required
Responsibilities of writer:
Write at least a single one-shot or one chapter of a longer dream novel per month.
Edit all dream novels which come in for the most common grammatical, punctuation, and spelling mistakes.
And hence, here are the requirements for those who wish to become DOPAMINE’s new staffers:
Requirements for web site design assistant:
Must have basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Java. I don’t need an expert (though it’ll be great if you are one). I just need someone who’d be able to do updates.
Requirements for writer:
Must be excellent in English. I need someone with a wider range of vocabulary than that of an eighth grader. I don’t need you to have a PhD level of thinking or be able to spin prose comparable with the beauty of Anne Rice’s. I just need someone who:
1. Writes coherently and makes minimal grammatical, punctuation, or spelling mistakes.
2. Able to edit others’ and his/her own work to remove the most common and basic errors.
Most of all, I need people who:
…are willing to befriend me. XD I’d hate to work with anyone whom I won’t get along. I’m a what you see is what you get kind of person. So what you think I am judging from the way I do my updates is what I truly am. Please do not apply if you think our personalities would clash.
Instructions for Application:
Web site updater: To apply, email me a mock HTML dream novel document. Use any text you want, but designate a prompt for an element just like how you change the names of the OCs in dream novels. If you have an existing web site, point me there too.
Writer: Email me your best fan fiction, dream novel, or original short story. Kindly indicate honestly how much time you can spare to edit others’ dream novels and write a chapter of your own each month.
There will be a two month trial period. After that, you may quit if you want to or if I decide that our partnership isn’t working out, I’ll tell you that. Otherwise, I’d be thrilled if you could stay with DOPAMINE foreveeeerrr!!! ♥
I realize that you could just create your own site, but this is a chance to work with a team and it’s always easier with more people around. This is especially beneficial to those who are interested to run a dream novel site but do not have that much time to spare. If you apply and I don’t choose you, I hope things would still be okay between us - no hard feelings. If you think you can’t handle being turned down (just in case), please do not apply. I don’t want my readers to feel badly about me
Thanks guys and I’ll be waiting for your emails!
